Neither dry nor sweet, the Smokey Martini delivers a great, fresh-tasting kick – the ideal sundowner for a warm summer's evening. Just mix 5 cl gin with 1 cl dry vermouth and a splash of your favorite whisky.

Using different gins and vermouths will result in subtle differences in taste and aroma. Simply pour the ingredients into a tumbler with ice cubes. Stir thoroughly and pour the Smokey Martini into a pre-cooled glass – ideally, the classic conical Martini glass.

Try adding a squirt of lime juice and serving with a sprinkling of zest – particularly if the gin you are using has citrus notes and you’re planning to enjoy a Bahía Corta with your cocktail. Or simply garnish with a slice of fresh orange.
